Beginn des Seitenbereichs: Inhalt:

The first year includes subjects that are relevant for basic knowledge and tools and implementation, management and design. Subjects that are covered in this module are:

  • Basics of circular economy, including sustainable development and industrial ecology: E.g., environmental science, sustainable development issues, systems sciences and system analysis, systems dynamics, technology and societal changes.
  • System analysis methods and models, tools: E.g., material flow analysis, substance flow analysis, life cycle assessment, decision-making analysis, input-output analysis (plus environmentally extended input-output analysis), agent based models, stakeholder analysis, multi-criteria analysis, scenario techniques/Analysis.
  • Design methods and tools: E.g., eco-design, technology assessment, cradle-to-cradle approach and thinking, product and service Development.
  • Implementation and management: E.g., innovation management, environmental management, quality management, supply chain management, Corporate Social Responsibility/Sustainability Reporting, policy Instruments.
  • Further courses and/or electives: E.g. assessment tools (strategic environmental assessment, multi-criteria assessment), topical courses (energy technologies, materials science).

After having learned the basics of circular economy in the first year, the third semester offers a specialisation subject, and each university in the consortium has its own focus. The specializations reflect relevant subjects for circular economy and are chosen based on the particular expertise and focus of the respective university.

The programme comprises 120 ECTS credits which are allocated as follows:
