Please describe in a short text why you would like to participate in the programme. In what way will the programme affect your professional future?
What are your (academic!) reasons for choosing: the programme, the entrance university and the mobility university?
What do you think would the programme add to your previous experience?
Because this is an English-taught programme, English language proficiency must be proven. This is possible in one of the following ways:
1) Confirmation of English proficiency through either a completed bachelor or master’s programme studied in the following English-speaking countries Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, United Kingdom, USA.
2) English certificate:
- Cambridge CPE (Certificate of Proficiency in English) grades C, B, A
- Cambridge CAE (Certificate of Advanced English) PASS
- Michigan ECPE (Examination for the Certificate of Proficiency in English) PASS
- Trinity ISE 3 (Integrated Skills in English) PASS
- Pearson PTE Academic MINIMUM SCORE 76
- IELTS Academic MINIMUM OVERALL SCORE 7
- TOEFL iBT MINIMUM SCORE 98 (tests taken until 20 January 2026) / iBT MINIMUM SCORE 5 (tests taken from 21 January 2026 onwards)
- APTIS ESOL C1 – British Council
The provided language certificates must not be older than 2 years at the time of application.
No English proficiency letter or other certificates will be accepted.
Please note that applicants from non-EU countries who have chosen the Jagiellonian University in Kraków as their entrance university must provide proof of Polish language proficiency at B2 level for admission to the Joint Master’s programme. Applicants from EU-countries must demonstrate their B2 level during an entrance interview.
You will find further information on the following website: https://welcome.uj.edu.pl/en_GB/admission/admission2025
Please note that this information applies to the 2025/26 academic year. Admission requirements may change for the following 2026/27 academic year.
The letters of recommendation must be from an academic in your Bachelor's or degree programme, signed and issued on official stationary.
The letters of recommendation may be addressed “Whom it may concern”. They shall provide a reference’s account of the applicant’s qualifications, including their skills, strengths, goals and accomplishments. They usually list academic achievements as well as extracurricular activities of the applicant, and includes details about the academic relationship between the referee and the applicant.
It is possible to upload the letters of recommendation directly into the online application. If the person writing the letter of recommendation does not want to send it to you directly, they can send it to jointdegrees(at)uni-graz.at and we will take care of the upload.
Foreign educational documents have the same evidential value as domestic public documents only if you hold the mandatory legalization on the original documents. While the legalization is not required at the time of application submission, you must provide the legalized documents (Bachelor's diploma/certificate and Transcript of records/Diploma Supplement) at the time of the admission if you are selected.
As the legalization process may take several months in some countries, we strongly recommend that you start the legalization process early to avoid delays or the risk of losing your chance to be admitted.
Note:
1. Applicants must include with their application either an approved language certificate or a confirmation of registration for a language test. The language test must be taken before the selection meeting and the scores must be available at the selection meeting at the latest.
If you experience any problems, i.e., the language test centers are closed or the test has been cancelled, please upload a confirmation of the cancelled test and a confirmation of your test registration. Please provide additional language certificates or confirmations (e.g., older certificates, diplomas, etc.). Due to this unusual situation, the selection committee will evaluate the application on the condition that proof of language proficiency is provided at a later date.
2. If you have not yet received your diploma/degree certificate, you can apply for the programme, but you should mention in your application when you will graduate and that you will provide the selection committee with your diploma/certificate as soon as possible after graduation. Your diploma/degree certificate must be submitted as hard copy at the latest during admission to the entrance university!
