JP Workshop Hiroshima University, Japan

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Since 2007 University of Graz has a cooperation with Hiroshima University in the „Joint International Master in Sustainable Development“. It allows students of the Joint Master to attend a specialization module in Japan.

Since February the consortium of the programme is working towards intensifying this cooperation with the goal to offer the programme also in Hiroshima, and to attract Japanese students.

To support the necessary procedures for accreditation and implementation in Japan, vice rector Prof. Yasushi Maruyama invited Thomas Brudermann (academic coordinator of the programme) and Ulrike Krawagna (Joint Programme Administration at the International Office) to attend a respective workshop at Hiroshima University on September 16-18, 2019. In this workshop, challenges for the implementation were identified and possible solutions were drafted in cooperation with representatives of Hiroshima University, Kyoto University, Waseda University (Tokyo) and the Japanese Ministry of Education (MEXT).
