Welcome Generation 2023/24 to the Joint International Master in Sustainable Development!

Students ©Anja Hoffmann

The University of Graz is pleased to welcome the new cohort of the Joint International Master in Sustainable Development.

The University of Graz coordinates the consortium of the Joint International Master in Sustainable Development, which combines the expertise of eight partner universities worldwide. The Master focuses on applying competencies to the question of sustainable development and the needs and possibilities of societal transformation by approaching sustainability issues from an interdisciplinary perspective.

In the coming semester, 23 students from 14 countries (Austria, Bangladesh, Belgium, Colombia, Czech Republic, Germany, India, Ireland, Italy, Pakistan, Poland, Portugal, Russian Federation and USA) will start the programme at the University of Graz. The students will benefit from the diversity of specialisations and an intercultural experience in an international classroom not only due to their different cultural backgrounds, but also due to their different academic backgrounds in the social and natural sciences.

On 18 September, a welcome meeting for the new students took place in a hybrid format. Programme coordinator Thomas Brudermann, as well as Ulrike Krawagna and Anja Hoffmann from the International Office provided the newcomers with important and useful information for a smooth start to their studies.

We wish our new "Sustainers" all the best on their way to becoming sustainability change agents and many great experiences in this degree programme.
