Joint Master Degree in History of South-Eastern Europe

The Master's Programme comprises 120 ECTS credits corresponding to a period of study of at least four semesters or two years. 60 ECTS credits have to be earned at the home university.

Students are required to complete at least 30 ECTS credits at one of the partner universities.

ECTS credit points are based on the total time investment a course or module requires in principle, including both classroom contact hours and individual study.

Module: Theory of History
Basic Module: History of South-Eastern Europe
Advanced Module: Topics of the History of South-Eastern Europe
Supplement Module: Questions concerning the History of South-Eastern Europe

Restricted Electives

May be chosen from all sub-areas of history and anthropology. They aim at integrating the knowledge acquired in the joint degree programme into a larger historical context.

Free Electives

Complement the compulsory classes and the restricted electives. Students are advised to choose courses in gender studies and/or language classes to improve the necessary language skills for the obligatory semester abroad.
