The European Joint Master's Program in English and American Studies brings together the expertise of eight partner universities worldwide and is offered entirely in English.
It focuses on the language and cultures of English-speaking countries, while promoting intercultural perspectives within a framework of general academic competence in the humanities. An additional value of the programme is its emphasis on English language proficiency.
Student Conference 2026
The 2026 student conference Spanning Regions and Disciplines of the European Joint Master's Programme in English and American Studies will be hosted by the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona on April 28, 2026.
This year’s theme, “Encounters and Interactions in Language, Literature and Culture”, invites reflection on the relational dimensions of our disciplines — the ways in which meaning is produced through contact, translation and exchange across regions, media and disciplinary boundaries.
Students and recent graduates of the Joint Programme as well as students in literature, linguistics and cultural studies are welcome to contribute to the conference with either a paper (20 minutes) or a poster (DIN A0) presentation that addresses the 2026 conference theme “Encounters and Interactions in Language, Literature and Culture”. Deadline is 28 January 2026.
Please see the call for proposals and the conference poster.
