Founded in 1911, Tsinghua University is consistently as one of China’s most renowned universities. Now Tsinghua has become an important institution for fostering talent and scientific research with 20 schools and 58 departments covering disciplines in science, engineering, literature, art, history, philosophy, economics, management, law, education and medicine. It is also ranked as the 1st place in Best Global Universities for Engineering by US News Education Rankings and 17th place in QS World University Rankings 2019.

The University has now over 47,700 registered students, including 15,600 undergraduates and 32,100 graduate students. Among over 120,000 students who have graduated from Tsinghua since its founding are many outstanding scholars, eminent entrepreneurs and great statesmen remembered and respected by their fellow Chinese citizens. The campus of Tsinghua is situated in northwest Beijing on the site of the former imperial gardens of the Qing Dynasty, and surrounded by a number of historical sites. With the motto of “Self-Improvement and Social Responsibility” and spirit of “Actions speaks Louder than Words”, Tsinghua University is dedicated to the well-being of Chinese society and to global Development.
